Downtown Annapolis Family Session | The Whitneys

April 2, 2018

Filed in: Family, Portraits

We had originally decided on Acton Park in Downtown Annapolis but when I got there and realized that the city was trying to grow new grass and had barricaded all of the grassy area off with this not so cute orange fencing I was less than thrilled and so we came to plan B.  Plan B turned out to be the grassy area next to the Charles Carrol House.  This adorable area turned out to be the most perfect spot for their Downtown Annapolis Family session and I couldn’t be happier with the images we got.

Ashley and I first met though a moms group through our church- Grace Baptist Church.  She was exactly the breath of fresh air and connection within a church body that I needed and has become such a sweet friend! I cannot say enough good things about her and the fact that she is an all-boy-mom, like myself, made me love her even more. (Us all-boy-moms need to stick together!) To say I was thrilled when she wanted to schedule a session that captured her family in this season, but also to celebrate her youngest’s first birthday, I was thrilled!

Any mom who has boys knows that trying to get them to cooperate for pictures and “smile pretty” is not an easy task.  But these boys were such naturals! I was so impressed with how well they listened and put up with my crazy voices to try and get the littlest to look my way.  I think it helped that there was a special treat of ice cream from the Annapolis Ice Cream Shop if they could cooperate and they definitely earned that ice cream! While it was beautiful and sunny yesterday, as the sun began to set, it became a bit cold and the wind picked up just a bit to make the already chilly air that much chillier.

I hope you enjoy these images as much as I love them!
